Steve Blatz Architect was asked to design Oscar De La Renta’s first retail outlet, creating a concept that would both interpret the fashion company’s sensibility and be able to serve as a template for its future boutiques. SBA first gutted the selected Madison Avenue space, and then fitted it with bleached anigre-wood custom millwork, oil-rubbed bronze metalwork, and Dominican coral stone accents. The design has become the template of Oscar De La Renta stores worldwide.
